Craft & Flea Market 2026 — Canada Water
Event photography for the Craft & Flea market at Canada Water — independent traders, handmade goods and a busy dockside crowd, photographed as part of the Round the Dock summer festival.
Brief
Craft & Flea brought its market of independent makers and traders to the dockside at Canada Water as one of the weekend markets in Round the Dock, the six-week free summer festival that ran from 23 July to 30 August 2026. Rows of market stalls lined the water, selling handmade ceramics, jewellery, enamel pins, felt toys, natural pet treats and more, with picnic benches and planting between them.
Vivid Squad photographed the market on 16 August 2026. The brief was to capture it at its busiest and show the lively interplay between traders, visitors and products — in imagery that felt vibrant, inclusive and community-focused, and reflected the wide mix of people the market drew to Canada Water.

About the Project
A good market photograph works on three scales, and we shot for all of them. Elevated and wide frames showed the full run of stalls along the dockside and the planted landscape around the water — the images that tell someone who wasn't there how big and busy the market was. Mid-range shots followed visitors browsing between stalls and pausing at the picnic benches. And close-ups picked out the products themselves: stacks of handmade mugs, cases of enamel pins, rows of felt animals and hand-finished jewellery.
The heart of the set is the exchange between traders and customers. We looked for real moments rather than posed ones — a ceramicist handing over a wrapped purchase, a jewellery maker laughing with a customer, a trader talking a visitor through her stock. Those candid frames are what make a market feel welcoming in marketing, and they give the traders themselves a reason to share the content, extending its reach well beyond Canada Water's own channels. Even the dogs that came along got their moment.
As with the rest of Round the Dock, photography notices were displayed on site and consent was secured wherever an individual was the main focus of a frame. Selected hero images were delivered on the day for real-time social posting, and the full gallery followed as its own batch in the client's digital asset library, tagged with the campaign's core tags, the Canada Dock location tag and a Craft & Flea market activity tag so the team could find market imagery instantly.
The market sat alongside the festival's live programme on the same weekend, which we cover in our Round the Dock case study — Spit Night, live music on the floating stage and the audiences by the water. Together they build on our long relationship with Canada Water, from the Boardwalk launch to the London Marathon 2026 activation.

FAQ
Common questions
Do you photograph markets and pop-up retail events in London?
Yes. We photographed the Craft & Flea market at Canada Water during the Round the Dock festival — wide and elevated views of the stalls, candid moments between traders and customers, and product close-ups for social media and marketing.
Can market photos be used by the traders as well as the organiser?
Yes. Candid trader and product shots are some of the most shared images from a market, and they give traders content to post themselves — which extends the reach of the event. Usage is agreed with the client up front.
How do you show the scale of a busy outdoor market?
We combine elevated viewpoints and wide frames that take in the full run of stalls with mid-range and close-up coverage of the people and products, so the set works for everything from a website banner to an Instagram carousel.
How quickly can you deliver market photography?
We deliver a selection of hero images on the day so the organiser can post while the market is still running, followed by the full edited and tagged gallery.
