Behind the Music: Girl Ray at Greenwich Peninsula
Artist interview with indie pop band Girl Ray ahead of their performance at Turning Tides, hosted at Greenwich Peninsula — capturing their creative story and what to expect from their live set.
Brief
Greenwich Peninsula commissioned Vivid Squad to produce a 'Behind the Music' interview with indie pop band Girl Ray, ahead of their headline performance at Turning Tides — Greenwich Peninsula's live music programme.
Artist interview content requires conversations that feel natural and honest combined with visuals that set up the performance to come. The format — a relaxed interview cut with b-roll and performance footage — is one we've refined across multiple artist and executive interview commissions.
What We Delivered
- Artist interview film
- On-location interview setup
- B-roll and atmospheric footage
About the Project
Live music video gives both the act and the venue a promotional asset that carries the energy of the performance well beyond the night — content for social, marketing, and building an audience for future shows.
This shoot is part of Vivid Squad's ongoing partnership with Greenwich Peninsula, covering performances and events across the estate. Knowing the site and the client means we focus entirely on capturing the show.
Girl Ray spoke about their creative journey, sound, and what audiences could expect from their Turning Tides set — content that gave Greenwich Peninsula strong promotional material ahead of the event and artist documentation that stands independently after it.
Artist interview filming depends on making the subject comfortable enough to speak naturally, then framing the conversation so it sets up the performance to come. We set the interview on location at Greenwich Peninsula and cut Girl Ray's conversation against b-roll and performance footage, giving the film both intimacy and momentum. The result worked on two timelines for the estate: promotional material that built anticipation for the band's Turning Tides set in the run-up, and lasting artist documentation that holds its value as a standalone piece long after the show — part of an ongoing body of Behind the Music content across the Peninsula's live programme.

FAQ
Common questions
Do you film live music and performances at venues in London?
Yes — we film live performances, gigs, and music events across London, capturing the energy and intimacy of a show for social and marketing. For Girl Ray's performance at Greenwich Peninsula we produced live event video.
Can you produce artist interview content as part of an event coverage brief?
Yes — pre-event artist interviews produce content with a longer shelf-life than event highlights alone. They serve as promotional material before the event and cultural documentation after. We handle the interview setup, filming, and editing as part of a combined brief.
