Brief

Vivid Squad was commissioned to cover a Diwali Festival of Lights celebration — an evening of cultural performances, music, and shared moments bringing together a community for one of the year's most visually distinctive events.

Diwali events are among the most dynamic of any cultural calendar — light, colour, performance, and community all present simultaneously. The brief was to produce a highlight reel that communicated the energy and cultural richness of the evening.

About the Project

Cultural event video carries both the spectacle and the meaning of an occasion — the colour, the performance, and the community — to a far wider audience than the day itself. It is how a cultural celebration builds profile and brings people back next year.

A strong edit gives organisers a promotional and advocacy asset for social, press, and supporter communications, communicating the energy and significance of the celebration in a way words and stills cannot.

Diwali events provide a unique visual canvas — the combination of light, colour, costume, and performance produces content that stands out on social media. The finished reel captured the full arc of the evening from performances through to the shared celebrations.

An evening event built on light and colour is a filming challenge as much as an opportunity — the conditions change constantly, the performances are fast, and the most striking content happens in low light. We shot to hold the colour and movement of the performances while capturing the shared community moments that give the celebration its meaning, then cut the reel to carry the full arc of the evening. The finished piece gave the organisers a vivid, highly shareable record of the occasion — content that builds profile for the celebration and helps draw a wider audience back the following year.
